The day begins again

The day
begins again
Light invades the darkness
of the night before
We awake
to a newness
God’s wonder to behold.

Much may be
the same
as countless days
before
But do we
wallow
in past miseries
or do we
greet the day --
The Lord’s
created day --
full of hope
and love
full of compassion
and joy
full of praise
and worship

Do we greet the day
this new day
abiding in the Lord,
studying, listening
in the quiet
to His Word
of wise instruction
Do we greet the day
every new day
that comes
with admiration  for
The King of Kings
seeking His best
for our best
in every way

Or
Do we instead
become
disgruntled
dissatisfied
irritated
angered
in the new day
as in a previous day
and miss
the wonders
God has given us?
